The data gathered over our previous participation in the trials has been invaluable in improving the quality of our Merino flock. We have used the information to identify areas for improvement and purchased rams and ewes to address short fall in our results such as yield, fleece weight and weight gain. All trial wether’s are run together and the variation in overall dollar return for the different producers is very interesting. It speaks volumes about the importance of understanding your sheep genetics. It has inspired our operation to do better and provided the information to move forward. Over several trials and in our overall farm results we have been able to track the improvement.
